You might be a qualified teacher looking for a change, an early years trained educator with a level 3 qualification or above, a parent looking to return to work now your children are at school, or just looking for a new and exciting place to work.

 

Educators at Deerness Valley Nursery come from a mix of backgrounds and experiences, several are teachers and some are training or re-training to Level 3 on an Apprenticeship. We are also a mix of ages but all work together closely to deliver education and care for children 0 to 5 years old. The whole nursery work as a family, playing, eating, working together, supporting each other, and having fun.

 

We follow a bespoke curriculum based on our values and largely delivered outside in our garden and in the local woodland. We work outside in all weathers and in all seasons, so you'll have to love being outside!

 

We provide uniform polo tops, waterproof trousers and thermal waterproof coats for all our team.

 

We are looking for someone to work a minimum of 16 hours a week, predominantly between 9am and 4pm, for above National Minimum Wage. The exact shifts and salary will depend on your experience.

This role is not suitable for a newly qualified educator, we are looking for someone experienced. You don't have to have specific qualifications to apply, but you must have experience working with children.

Essential:

• Experience working with children ideally in education, but we will consider other contexts too.

• Love working with children.

• Experience working with 0 to 5 year olds.

• Willingness to support the Christian ethos of the nursery.

• Able to work outside in all weathers and all seasons.

• Able to work as part of a professional and respectful team, including supporting each other’s wellbeing and educational effectiveness

• A clear full enhanced DBS.

• Two supportive references.

Desirable:

• Qualified to level 3 or above with a full and relevant childcare or early education qualification, or teaching qualification with QTS.

• Experience working in a mixed age early years setting.

• Experience delivering early education outside.

• Experience working in a Christian setting.
